Achieve in 1 year what others take 5 to accomplish.
7 aspects you should be aware of that constantly affect your daily productivity:
Hey,
It's Alex.
Being productive is like an art.
And most of it?
It comes from inside of us.
It lays in our way of being of how we:
Think
Feel
Move our body
And mostly, what we believe in.
Why mostly?
Because the things you believe in define your way of thinking.
Your thinking defines what you feel.
And what you feel affects your body.
Let me give you an example:
A person who believes they “aren’t good enough” will think like someone who isn’t good enough.
Because they think that way, they will feel emotions tied to not being good enough. It might manifest as sadness, discomfort, or insecurity.
And a person who feels insecure has different body language than someone who doesn’t think that way about themselves.
Let’s dig a little deeper...
7 aspects that define your productivity:
1. Inner pain
It's impossible to be productive if you’ve just broken up with a partner or are grieving someone close to you. But the truth is, even without major painful events, people tend to hold onto emotions for decades.
Buried emotions never die.
If you suppress what you feel, it will come back to you later…
Unhealed childhood trauma takes an endless amount of mental resources to deal with on a daily basis.
But in most cases, you aren't even aware of it. You just think:
"It's just who I am."
"Life is like that."
"It is what it is."
People who go through therapy and heal parts of themselves can experience an energetic boom afterward.
It’s like someone cleans their inner house, and there’s space for something “new.”
And this “new” is basically your life… Your productive life.
2. Beliefs
Our beliefs define our way of being.
If you’re constantly telling yourself, you’re a messy person.
Guess what? You will be a messy person.
If you believe that, to be productive, you should work 8 hours a day, this will become your truth.
Some beliefs are good for us.
And some can be ineffective and prevent us from achieving what we want.
We can self-sabotage our own goals without realizing there’s something inside us doing it — just because we hold a deep belief that we’ve forgotten exists.
But it’s hiding behind our behavior and emotions.
Want to understand your beliefs?
Analyze your behaviors and typical emotions that you live by.
3. Toxic Habits
Toxic habits can be anything that sabotages your goals.
For example:
Automatic ways of thinking that close doors and opportunities.
Compulsive behavior like constantly checking your phone.
Avoidant behavior that shows itself as procrastination.
Each of us has unique habits that affect our productivity.
And when it comes to your way of thinking, how you move your body or even which kinds of words, you use.
Most of the time, you aren't aware of it.
Unless you work with a coach or therapist who mirrors back what you don’t see.
The result can be phenomenal as you finally can see the reason why you aren’t getting the results you want.
4. Wrong Environment
The cliché:
You are the average of the 3-5 people you mostly spend time with…
It’s true.
You want to be productive?
Spend time with productive people.
They’ve already solved their ineffective beliefs, and their way of being (the way they think, talk, move, and act) is productive by default.
5. Wrong Choices
There is nothing that makes us more unproductive than big wrong choices.
Choices in:
Career
Relationships
Health
Finance
There are two ways to make better choices:
One is by making many choices and learning from experience.
The more mistakes you make, the more you eventually learn what’s right for you and what’s not.
But the better way is by knowing yourself better.
Knowing what you want in the big picture will help you make better choices that will lead to a more productive life.
6. Not Knowing Yourself
As I said above...
Not knowing yourself leads to wrong choices.
If you know your values, principles, and morals…
You navigate through life like holding a private map.
And this map helps you make better choices that lead to a productive and authentic life.
When you don’t know what you want, you might end up living a life that doesn’t feel like yours.
7. Unbalanced Lifestyle
In the era of "hustling" and endless posts that promote quick success stories.
Stories that hide the pain and hard work behind them.
The era of Instagram, which is filled with beautiful unrealistic lifestyles.
All of this pushes us to work non-stop.
And what’s the cost of this non-stop?
Why not work smarter instead of harder?
I already experienced burnout one time…
And burnout can burn your productivity to ashes.
For me, a balanced lifestyle means finding meaning outside of your business or job.
It means having many sources of meaning that bring color to your life — different aspects of joy.
And all this joy makes you a more productive person who eventually will achieve more than others.
