How to stay extremely focused in a busy, chaotic world?
How do you discover your inner strength that keeps you focused, no matter what life throws at you?
Hey,
It's Alex.
We all have something we want to achieve.
It could be:
Making more money.
Learning something new.
Build a house and start a family.
We think about it and imagine it…
But then, we step into the busy, distracting, "chaotic" world, and problems start filling up our day.
And those wishes we imagine?
As time passes, they slip through our hands like sand on the beach…
How do we build a superpower of sharp focus?
I'm not talking about focusing for a few hours during the day.
I'm talking about staying focused on your big goals when life hits you.
And life can hit us hard…
Do you know that feeling when you come back to your hometown and meet people from your past who never left?
It feels like nothing has changed in their lives.
You’ve experienced so much since you left, but for some reason, it feels that they’ve gotten stuck in the same reality.
When you ask them about the dreams they shared with you 10 years ago, they share a story of why, in the end, it didn't work out.
Why is it like that?
Are some people just better than others at achieving their goals?
And deal with hard situations when life hits us?
Not exactly...
Anyone can achieve anything in life.
We all have the potential.
We're all made from the same organic material, and we all get our energy from the same source — the sun.
The difference is in our ability to stay focused on what’s important.
To stay committed to our dreams and goals—even when we’re experiencing dramatic events… No one can know which challenge will come next to distract you from your dreams.
We all have problems that distract us.
And yet...
Some people find excuses.
And some people find solutions.
It’s not easy to read…
I know how it feels.
And I’m sure you feel that your situation is hard and there is no space for anything else.
But I also believe that if you dream about something, it means you have the energy and the possibility to make it happen.
Let me share with you a short story…
The small behavior experiment that I did to myself…
I was curious how distracting and addictive short videos like reels actually are.
I mean… It’s just videos. How much can it affect us in the end?
So, I watched YouTube shorts (TikTok-style videos) a few times a day for a week.
I enjoyed it so much!
So many emotions.
Ideas that I have nothing to do with.
Endless amount of cheap dopamine.
I especially liked Game of Thrones shorts. A short video that shows some parts of the episode. As a result, I watched the entire last season because of it.
After a few days, I noticed that my desire to write started to decline…
I started to get bored with activities I used to enjoy.
I became more irritated.
My focus went down.
Apparently, I’m getting easily addicted to cheap dopamine activities. It really affects my energy levels. And despite all the fun behind these videos… My big goals are more important to me than any free content online.
I deleted all the social apps from my phone. I don’t have anything. I can still use them on my Mac or iPad, but my content consumption has decreased by 90%.
I’m sharing this to remind you that perhaps you also have “something” in your daily life that takes energy and time away from your goals.
And the only way to stay sharp and focused on what is important to you is to set boundaries.
But there is no point in setting any boundaries if you have no idea what it is that you want.
The distractions, chaotic life, or any other drama that eventually will happen - will win.
When you have a dream or goal based on your values.
When it's something that comes from within you.
It becomes easier to navigate through life and stay focused.
You naturally start saying NO to anything that hurts your goal.
And if something bad happens?
You take a pause, but you don’t give up.
When the goal comes from within, you don’t even think about giving up. You just think about different ways how you can do it.
Because when you want something that badly…
You don’t want to find excuses.
You want to find solutions.
Many people never figure out what they actually want.
It takes courage to look inside and be brave enough to take the risk.
It takes courage to listen to your gut and not your overthinking brain.
How can a coach help you figure out what you want?
A coach is someone who helps to uncover you.
Uncover what sparks you specifically.
What is your superpower?
What drives you, so that no matter what happens, you keep going forward?
It’s something that is impossible to fake.
And when you uncover it? There is no way back.
This is the beauty of a real coaching process.
It uncovers parts of you that you never knew you had, and it gives you such strong wisdom and power. So when life starts to test you?
You’ll have all the strength and belief in yourself to say:
"Yes, I can do it."
“I deserve it.”
“It’s my birthright to have it.”
When you have this…
There is no need to think about focus. It comes naturally to you, like drinking a glass of water.
