We all have some annoying behaviors that we’d prefer to get rid of.
For some, it could be:
Overthinking
Procrastination
Judging others
Starting a new project and never finishing it
These behaviors, habits, or emotions we constantly experience in similar situations are like “automatic programs” in our brains that run the same way every time.
One reason for this is our brain’s desire to save energy.
It doesn’t care much about our long-term goals; it’s more concerned with survival and maintaining the status quo.
But the consequences of sabotaging behaviors can be catastrophic for our lives and the things we want to achieve.
You want to hit a business goal, but instead, you find yourself procrastinating, overthinking, and doubting your ideas.
You want to follow your heart and do what you love, but you’re paralyzed by fear.
Our patterns - automatic behaviors - shape our daily lives.
After some time…
When you think about something the same way over and over again, your perspective becomes “fixed.”
And from here, you start saying things like:
"It’s just who I’m."
"I'm like this (because of some event that happened 20 years ago)."
We say these things to protect ourselves from criticism or judgment.
But inside?
We know the truth.
We’re just scared to look at what’s behind that procrastination, fear, or insecurity…
What’s the real reason that prevents us from living the life we imagine from time to time.
Everything is connected.
The way you were raised.
The good or bad things that happened to you.
The way you communicate with yourself and the world.
From how you start your day to how you end it.
Everything shapes your way of being.
The way how you think, feel, and move.
And, of course, the decisions and actions you take.
But… Nothing shapes your way of being more than the automatic patterns you live by day after day.
This is meaningful because if we look closely at our patterns…
If we analyze them in a specific, systematic way — we have the chance to uncover our core beliefs.
Your core beliefs are like the microchip of the whole operating system that makes you who you are.
The reason I’m talking about this is because, to become better at anything you do.
Anything that’s important for you.
Whether managing your company or building more meaningful relationships - it starts with you becoming better.
But…
Before you can become better, something inside you has to change.
Some parts need to be reshaped, rethought, and reconsidered.
And some need to go, because they no longer serve you.
You are the one that holds you back from achieving what you want.
But not the whole you… Just some part of you.
